Prince D, et al. – This study sought to focus on antibacterial effect and propose mechanism of action of a topical surgical adhesive. Researchers identified uninitiated octyl cyanoacrylate as an antibacterial to gram positive and gram negative bacteria. The mechanism was physical diffusion of water from cell. They observed a 7–8 log kill after a 3–minute contact time.
