Anti-inflammatory medication following cataract surgery: A randomized trial between preservative-free dexamethasone, diclofenac and their combination

Acta Ophthalmologica Jan 31, 2018

Ylinen P, et al. - An analysis was conducted of the anti-inflammatory effectiveness and tolerance of preservative-free dexamethasone (DEX) and diclofenac (DICL) eye drops, and their combination following cataract surgery. Data demonstrated that diclofenac (DICL), along with DEX plus DICL, were superior to DEX monotherapy in minimizing CRT change and the incidence of PCME. In the cases of uneventful cataract surgery, combination medication did not disclose any added value compared to DICL monotherapy.
