Anti-CD74 antibodies in spondyloarthritis: A systematic review and meta- analysis
Seminars in Arthritis and Rheumatism Dec 21, 2020
Xu S, Zhang X, Chen Y, et al. - Researchers assessed the concentrations of anti-CD74 (cluster of differentiation 74) IgG and IgA antibodies in spondyloarthritis as well as examined the diagnostic worth of anti-CD74 antibodies, by performing this systematic review and meta- analysis. They explored PubMed, Web of Science and Medline from inception to August 7, 2019 in order to identify relevant studies. Of 55 searched studies, 9 studies were ultimately included and analyzed. For anti-CD74 IgG antibodies, the pooled sensitivity, specificity and area under the summary receiver operating characteristics curve were estimated to be 0.61, 0.90 and 0.8881, while these values were 0.59, 0.95 and 0.8671, respectively, for anti-CD74 IgA antibodies. Findings showed that spondyloarthritis patients exhibited significantly elevated anti-CD74 IgG and IgA antibodies, and these antibodies indicated a high diagnostic specificity of spondyloarthritis. The likely worth of anti-CD74 antibody was suggested as a potential biomarker for the diagnosis of spondyloarthritis, however, many open questions remain.
