Anti-CA15.3 and anti-CA125 antibodies and ovarian cancer risk: Results from the EPIC cohort
Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention Jul 01, 2018
Cramer DW, et al. - Researchers determined the associations of anti-CA15.3 and anti-CA125 antibodies with ovarian cancer (EOC) risk. They included in this study 806 women who developed EOC and 1,927 matched controls from the European Prospective Investigation of Nutrition and Cancer. They used generalized linear models to assess the links between epidemiologic factors and anti-mucin antibodies. They used conditional logistic regression to assess EOC risks associated with anti-mucin antibodies, by themselves or in combination with respective antigens. The findings generally supported the premise that anti-mucin antibody levels correlate with risk factors for EOC. Data suggested that longer-term risk of specific EOC types may be predicted by antibodies, alone or in combinations with their antigen.
