Anthropometric and biochemical determinants of estimated glomerular filtration rate in a large cohort of obese children
Journal of Renal Nutrition Feb 21, 2018
Marzuillo P, et al. - The factors that could influence the estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) levels were investigated in a large population of obese children without suspect of primary kidney disease. eGFR was found to be positively correlated with body mass index (BMI)-standard deviation score (SDS), while it showed a negative correlation with systolic blood pressure (SBP)-SDS, homeostasis model assessment (HOMA-IR), pubertal stage, and duration of obesity. In addition, the duration of obesity was most significantly associated to eGFR levels.
