Anterior urethroplasty using a new tissue engineered oral mucosa graft: Surgical techniques and outcomes
The Journal of Urology Apr 05, 2018
Barbagli G, et al. - Authors assessed whether the tissue-engineered material could be adopted using the standard techniques for anterior urethroplasty in patients with recurrent strictures. The median age of patients included in this study was 57 years. Findings suggested the median stricture length to be 5 cm. In 7.9% cases, strictures were penile, bulbar in 76.3%, peno-bulbar in 15.8%. They noted that the techniques suggested for anterior urethroplasty using native oral mucosa could be used for implanting tissue-engineered oral mucosa graft with similar success rate.
