Anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction graft preferences among orthopaedic surgeons
Arthroscopy Feb 04, 2021
Bowman EN, Limpisvasti O, Cole BJ, et al. - This study was intended to characterize the anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) graft preference of surgeons and to examine factors correlated with their predilection. In the study, 514 AOSSM and AANA surgeons completed a 15-question survey regarding ACLR graft preference in various situations. In graft choice, patient age was the most important factor, with patellar and quadriceps tendon autograft the preferred graft for ACLR for younger, pivoting athletes. For patients, fellowship training and practice demographics were also associated with graft choice.
