Spine Jan 20, 2018
Buttermann GR - This prospective study was performed to evaluate the long-term, >10-year clinical outcomes of anterior cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF). In addition, researcher aimed to compare outcomes based on the primary diagnosis of disc herniation, stenosis or advanced degenerative disc disease (DDD), the number of levels treated, and preexisting adjacent level degeneration. For all primary diagnoses, ACDF led to significantly improved outcomes and was sustained for >10 years’ follow-up. For pseudarthrosis repair and for symptomatic adjacent-level degeneration, secondary surgeries were performed.
