Anterior cervical corpectomy and fusion vs posterior laminoplasty for the treatment of oppressive myelopathy owing to cervical ossification of posterior longitudinal ligament: A meta-analysis
European Spine Journal Jan 31, 2018
Qin R, et al. - The clinical efficacy, postoperative complication and surgical trauma were compared between anterior cervical corpectomy and fusion vs posterior laminoplasty for the treatment of oppressive myelopathy owing to cervical ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament (OPLL). In this study, laminoplasty (LAMP) appeared to be effective and safe when the preoperative canal occupying ratio < 60%. However, when the preoperative canal occupying ratio ≥ 60%, anterior cervical corpectomy and fusion (ACCF) were preferred while complications could be controlled by careful manipulation and advanced surgical techniques. They recommended balancing benefits and risks of the option while choosing it.
