Analysis of re-hospitalizations for patients with heart failure caused by coronary heart disease: Data of first event and recurrent event
Therapeutics and Clinical Risk Management Nov 21, 2019
Tian J, Yan J, Zhang Q, et al. - Through this prospective observational cohort study of 1,484 individuals with heart failure caused by coronary heart disease, experts introduced the conditional frailty model, which could aid in getting more reasonable results additionally to using re-hospitalization data with the outcomes of the event-time-count. In the Cox regression model, it was exhibited that non-manual work, diastolic dysfunction, and superior medical compensation raised the risk of heart failure readmission, whilst treatment with beta-blockers reduced the risk. The conditional frailty model further showed that age, female gender, non-manual work, superior medical compensation, longer QRS duration, and treatment with percutaneous coronary intervention raised the risk of heart failure readmission. Thus, this study received more reliable, reasonable results on the basis of longitudinal data and a mixed model. Moreover, for the management of heart failure, the results could give more clinical epidemiological evidence.
