Analysis of predictive factors for R0 resection and immediate bleeding of cold snare polypectomy in colonoscopy
PLoS Neglected Tropical Diseases Mar 14, 2019
Aoki T, et al. - Researchers sought the predictors of R0 resection and immediate bleeding of cold snare polypectomy (CSP). They identified the removal of 399 polyps, in 200 patients without antithrombotics via retrospectively reviewing the database of patients from the University of Tokyo Hospital in Japan. Outcomes revealed that performing colonoscopy with narrow band imaging with magnification (NBI-M) may lead to a higher rate of R0 resection with CSP, compared to performing colonoscopy with white-light imaging. A risk factor for immediate bleeding was the macroscopic protruding appearance of a polyp.
