Analysis of clinical features of mammary analog secretory carcinoma using the SEER database
JAMA Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery Jan 23, 2019
Anderson JL, et al. -In this population-based study, researchers planned to assess the surveillance, epidemiology, and end result database to estimate the clinical features of mammary analog secretory carcinoma (MASC) (a rare salivary gland tumor). A chromosomal translocation which fuses the ETS variant 6 gene (ETV6) (OMIM 600618) to the neurotrophic tyrosine kinase receptor type 3 (NTRK3) gene (OMIM 191361) is a feature of these tumors. Histologic features similar to that of breast secretory carcinoma (a low-grade ductal breast carcinoma) have also been noted.
