Analysis of 50 cases of solid pseudopapillary tumor of pancreas: Aggressive surgical resection provides excellent outcomes
European Journal of Surgical Oncology Sep 13, 2018
Kumar NAN, et al. - In order to describe the clinicopathological features and the perioperative and long-term treatment outcomes following aggressive surgical resection in solid pseudopapillary tumor (SPT) of the pancreas, researchers analyzed 50 consecutive patients operated for SPT at Tata Memorial Hospital, India over a period of 11 years from February 2007 to February 2018. Outcomes suggest that excellent long-term survival was achieved with aggressive complete surgical resection of SPT. To provide the best chance of cure, they recommend performing surgery, particularly for large and borderline resectable tumors, at high-volume centers.
