An RNA polymerase II-driven Ebola virus minigenome system as an advanced tool for antiviral drug screening

Antiviral Research Aug 18, 2017

Nelson EV, et al. – Researchers developed an RNA polymerase II (pol II) driven Ebola virus minigenome system to improve upon established T7 driven systems. They identified the pol II system as efficient and more versatile than the T7 systems, with applications in a wider range of cell types. It provided a biologically relevant tool for studying Ebola virus replication and transcription. It could be scaled up easily for use in cost effective antiviral drug screens.
