Diabetes Research and Clinical Practice Feb 06, 2020
Kumar S, et al. - In this single-centred prospective real-world observational study, researchers analyzed post-transplant outcomes of new-onset diabetes after transplantation (NODAT) patients in comparison to the regular cohort (non-NODAT). In cases of renal transplantation, they compared graft survival and rejection rate, patient survival rate, the incidence of hospitalization (due to any cause) in between NODAT and non-NODAT groups. The sample consisted of 100 individuals who had renal transplantation over a period of two years. According to findings, NODAT results in adverse outcomes such as increased hospitalization rates, reduced allograft survival rates and survival of patients.
