Heys D, et al. - Researchers undertook a comparative exploration of the prehospital oxygen saturations and treatment of patients suffering from acute exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (AECOPD) before and after the introduction of air nebulizers. A reduction in oxygen therapy was noted due to the introduction of prehospital air nebulizers, in patients with AECOPD, A lower median prehospital oxygen saturation was also revealed. The yielded data supported the use of air nebulizers in the prehospital setting.
