An analysis on the effect of the three-incision combined approach for complex fracture of tibial plateau involving the posterolateral tibial plateau
Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery and Research Feb 18, 2020
Hong, G, et al. - This study was undertaken to evaluate the clinical impact of the three-incision combined approach for complex fracture of tibial plateau involving the posterior tibial plateau. Between July 2015 and June 2019, a retrospective analysis was conducted for 13 cases receiving surgery for complex fracture of the tibial plateau. Via the three-incision combined approach, they received surgery and at the outpatient clinic, regular postoperative reexamination was conducted. Hospital for Special Surgery Knee Scoring System was used to evaluate the knee joint function; the Lysholm score was utilized to estimate knee mobility during the last follow-up. By the Lachman test and pivot-shift test, the anterior, posterior, and rotational stabilities of the knee joint were evaluated. The results of this study displayed that the three-incision combined technique was found to be safe and reliable for complex fracture of tibial plateau involving the posterior tibial plateau and is worthy of further popularization.
