Altered brain morphology in boys with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder with and without comorbid conduct disorder/oppositional defiant disorder
Human Brain Mapping Nov 17, 2019
Vetter NC, et al. - A decreased total gray matter, striatal, and cerebellar volume in both patient groups [ADHD and oppositional defiant disorder/conduct disorder (ODD/CD)] and a declined amygdalar and hippocampal volume for ADHD+ODD/CD was prognosticated and alterations in prefrontal volume, thickness, and surface area was investigated in order to examine the structural profile of ADHD-only vs ADHD+ODD/CD spanning the indices subcortical and cortical volume, cortical thickness, and surface area. The need to cautiously distinguish between ADHD and ADHD+ODD/CD was shown. Moreover, in ADHD+ODD/CD, the progressed rostral middle frontal thickness could point at a postponed adolescent cortical thinning. Also, compared with individuals with pure ADHD, people with the double burden ADHD and ODD or CD appear to be even more impacted.
