Alterations of the default mode network and cognitive impairments in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
International Journal of COPD Feb 15, 2018
Hu XW, et al. - The correlations between cognition and function changes of the default mode network (DMN) in COPD patients were investigated in this present study. Findings demonstrated that cognitive impairments, observed among COPD patients, correlated well with disease severity. It was suggested that cognitive impairment may be predicted by functional connectivity (FC) changes in activated brain regions in the DMN. The left posterior cingulate cortex and left hippocampus appeared to be possibly important brain regions related to cognitive impairment in COPD patients.
