Allergic rhinitis and the associated risk of nocturnal enuresis in children: A nationwide population-based cohort study
International Forum of Allergy & Rhinology Oct 08, 2018
Lai PH, et al. - In children with allergic rhinitis (AR), authors gauged the incidence and risk of nocturnal enuresis (NE). They conducted a population-based cohort study among 327,928 children with AR and 327,601 non-AR controls between 2000 and 2012 in Taiwan. As per data, a higher incidence and consequent risk of NE was seen in children with AR. For boys, younger children, and those with more frequent health utilization for AR symptoms, greater risk of NE was noted. Findings suggested a decrease in the risk of NE in the AR cohort with follow-up time; within the first year after AR diagnosis, risk was the highest.
