Alcohol consumption and the risk of rosacea: A systematic review and meta‐analysis
Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology Oct 03, 2021
Liu L, Xue Y, Chen Y, et al. - Findings from this systematic review and meta-analysis suggest alcohol consumption to be a risk factor in phymatous rosacea (PhR).
PubMed, Embase, and the Cochrane database yielded 14 eligible studies for inclusion; alcohol consumption did not appear to be a risk factor for rosacea.
However, in subgroup analysis, there appeared an increased risk of phymatous rosacea (PhR) in correlation with alcohol consumption; the pooled OR was 4.17 (95% CI = 1.76–9.91).
