Zhang ZQ, et al. - As a preventive strategy for bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) in premature infants, efficacy, as well as safety of airway administration (inhalation or instillation) of corticosteroids, was investigated via meta-analysis with sequential analysis. Findings proved the efficacy as well as safety of airway administration of corticosteroids (especially instillation of budesonide using surfactant as a vehicle) in preventing BPD in preterm infants.
