Tudorache E, et al. – This study compared functional performance and cognitive status across different age groups of COPD patients and assessed the changes in extrapulmonary impacts. Findings reported reduced exercise capacity and muscle strength in elderly COPD patients. They also had deteriorated cognitive function and increased inflammatory markers. Additionally, a significant correlation was observed between inflammation markers and muscle strength, walking distance and cognitive impairment, respectively.
