Aggression, impulsivity, and their predictive value on medical lethality of suicide attempts: A follow-up study on hospitalized patient
Journal of Affective Disorders Dec 06, 2017
Gvion Y - This research was designed to investigate the role of aggressive-impulsive variants and suicide history in predicting the medical severity of follow-up suicide attempts. The major findings of this study were the predictive value of medically serious suicide attempt (MSSA) vs medically non-serious suicide attempt (MNSSA). The outcomes closely linked the lethality of a future suicide attempt with the lethality of former suicide attempt, impulsivity, and hopelessness. Therefore, patients who had made a suicide attempt ought to be evaluated for medical severity of the attempt, impulsive-aggressive measures hopelessness, and communication difficulties, which were important factors in follow-up attempts.
