Age interactions on pain sensitization in patients with severe knee osteoarthritis and controls
The Clinical Journal of Pain Nov 14, 2017
Petersen KK, et al. - The influence of age on pressure hyperalgesia, temporal summation of pain (TSP), and conditioned pain modulation (CPM) in patients with knee osteoarthritis (KOA) and controls was investigated. Findings suggested that age affected pressure hyperalgesia while dynamic pain mechanisms such as TSP and CPM remained unaffected suggesting that these parameters are robust for a larger age range and reliable for long-term follow-up studies.
