Melamed A, et al. - Experts intended to determine the age-associated risk of 90-day postoperative mortality for advanced ovarian cancer following cytoreductive surgery and to examine whether administrating neoadjuvant chemotherapy could decrease the age-associated risk of 90-day mortality. Surgical resection of all visible tumors was correlated with enhanced long-term survival and for advanced-stage ovarian cancer, it was a critical element of primary therapy. Nevertheless, cytoreductive surgery had a substantial risk of complications and death.
