Age affects the prognostic impact of diabetes in chronic heart failure
Acta Diabetologica Jan 26, 2018
Cunha FM, et al. - The impact of diabetes on the mortality of heart failure (HF) patients according to their age was evaluated in this study. In chronic HF, the prognostic impact of diabetes depended on patient’s age. The coexistence of diabetes predicted an almost double risk of 5-year mortality in patients < 75 years. No such association existed in patients with 75 years or above. Mortality was predicted by diabetes only in younger HF patients.
