Adverse pregnancy and maternal outcomes in women with hidradenitis suppurativa
Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology Jun 16, 2021
Fitzpatrick L, Hsiao J, Tannenbaum R, et al. - Risk of adverse pregnancy and maternal outcomes was compared between women with and without HS. In addition, the influence of comorbid conditions was evaluated. Researchers conducted a retrospective cohort analysis identifying a higher risk of spontaneous abortion, preterm birth, gestational diabetes mellitus, gestational hypertension, preeclampsia, and cesarean section in correlation with HS pregnancies (n = 1,862) vs control pregnancies (n = 64,218). In the fully adjusted model, they identified an independent correlation of HS pregnancies with spontaneous abortion, gestational diabetes mellitus, and cesarean section.
