Low J, et al. – This paper strived to determine the limitations in palliative care provision in the last year of life, for people with liver cirrhosis. It also identified the potential barriers to and enablers of palliative care. It was discovered that people dying of cirrhosis displayed unpredictable trajectories. However, they reported a common pathway of frequent admissions and worsening symptoms as death approaches. An improvement could be brought about in the care for people with cirrhosis via clinical tools to identify the point of irreversible deterioration and joint working between liver services and palliative care may improve
