Admission-to-discharge temperature reduction in decompensated heart failure is associated with rehospitalization

Omar HR, et al. - The link between admission-to-discharge temperature reduction and heart failure (HF) rehospitalization was investigated in the ESCAPE (Evaluation Study of Congestive Heart Failure and Pulmonary Artery Catheterization Effectiveness) trial. Findings demonstrated that unfavorable prognosis was indicated by admission-to-discharge temperature reduction ≥ 1ºC, which was also found to be related to future rehospitalization ascribed to HF.
