Kawamura K, et al. - Researchers planned this study to assess the adjunctive effect of azithromycin on survival for patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). In patients with moderate or severe ARDS, adjunctive azithromycin proved effective. It improved the 90-day survival rate for these patients and shortened time-to-discontinuation of mechanical ventilation.
