Bertolami A, et al. - In order to identify increased carotid intima-media thickness (cIMT) in a primary prevention setting, the researchers examined the combinations of well-established, easily accessible body mass indices and circulating biomarkers. As compared with anthropometric parameters, combining plasma adiponectin measurements and body mass index (BMI) improved estimation of cIMT.
