Adherence to adjuvant hormonal therapy and associated factors among women with breast cancer attending the Tikur Anbessa Specialized Hospital, Addis Ababa Ethiopia, 2019: A cross-sectional study

Wako Z, Mengistu D, Dinegde NG, et al. - Among female breast cancer patients visiting the Tikur Anbessa Specialized Hospital Oncology Center, this cross-sectional study was carried out to assess adherence to adjuvant hormone therapy as well as related factors. Employing systematic random sampling technique, participants were selected. There were 216 women with breast cancer, of whom 209 took part in the study. Among participants, overall adherence to adjuvant hormone therapy was estimated to be 77.5%, in general. Factors that were strongly associated with adherence were: types of adjuvant hormone therapy, lack of side effects, mastectomy, getting social support, and thorough therapeutic communication.
