Added value of spectroscopy to perfusion MRI in the differential diagnostic performance of common malignant brain tumors
American Journal of Neuroradiology Aug 20, 2018
Vallée A, et al. - In the present study, researchers evaluated the added value that spectroscopy can deliver to perfusion utilizing optimal combined classifiers that have the highest differential diagnostic performance to discriminate lymphomas, glioblastomas, and metastases. For this investigation, 55 consecutive subjects with histopathologically proved lymphomas, glioblastomas, and metastases were involved after undergoing MR imaging from January 2013 to January 2016. Findings revealed that spectroscopy offered an added performance value to perfusion using optimal combined classifiers of these modalities, which significantly increased the differential diagnostic performances for these brain tumors.
