Clinical Journal of the American Society of Nephrology Mar 31, 2018
Schroeder EB, et al. - The hazard of significant kidney events, cardiovascular events, and death was compared among diabetics who added antihypertensive medications to an angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor or angiotensin II receptor blocker. The composite cardiovascular event end point was only examined in those free of cardiovascular disease at baseline. Calcium channel blockers vs thiazide diuretics were shown to be related to a lower risk of significant kidney events and a similar risk of cardiovascular events.
