Acute myocarditis with infarct-like presentation in a pediatric population: Role of cardiovascular magnetic resonance
Pediatric Cardiology Oct 13, 2017
Martinez-Villar M, et al. - The bi-fold aim of this paper was to elucidate an acute myocarditis series with infarct-like pattern and to inspect the cardiovascular magnetic resonance role in a pediatric cohort. It was determined that the infarct-like pattern presented as a typical presentation of acute myocarditis in adolescents. Cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) was recommended for this cohort. It could be regarded as a first-line diagnostic tool. The high sensitivity of this diagnostic method could assist in avoiding an endomyocardial biopsy. Late gadolinium enhancement did not signify worse outcome in this population.
