Criss CN, et al. - Prevalence, as well as prognostic impact of acute kidney injury (AKI), was determined in neonatal necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC). Over half of patients with NEC developed AKI. Notably, AKI was found to be associated with more than a 2-fold higher mortality.
