Fuhrman DY, et al. - Researchers herein focused on acute kidney injury (AKI) in young adults treated in an adult intensive care unit (ICU). They found that development of AKI was common among young adults admitted to an adult tertiary care center ICU, with an associated increased length of stay and risk of mortality. For all stratified age groups, potentially modifiable risk factors for AKI including medications were identified.
