Acute inflammatory responses to exercise in patients with abdominal aortic aneurysm
Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise Dec 13, 2017
Windsor MT, et al. - The consequence of exercise intensity on circulating biomarkers of inflammation and extracellular matrix degeneration was evaluated by the authors among patients with the abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) and healthy older adults. A greater anti-inflammatory response was elicited via a bout of higher-intensity exercise compared to moderate-intensity exercise. This could be additionally augmented in patients with AAA. Exercise-induced reductions in biomarkers related to AAA progression possibly represented a protective effect of exercise in patients with AAA.
