Journal of Neuroimmunology | Dec 20, 2017
Andrade A, et al. - Researchers, via this systematic review, analyzed the exercise-induced acute changes in the inflammatory markers in patients with fibromyalgia (FM). Although the effects of exercise on the inflammatory markers in these patients remained unclear, data, nonetheless, indicated possible low-grade chronic inflammation in these patients, as reflected by higher concentrations of interleukin (IL)-8 and tumor necrosis factor-α and high expression of IL-10. In addition, none of the studies reported worsening of symptoms with exercise recommended as treatment.
