Sugrue J, et al. - Researchers performed a comparison of the treatment choices and clinical outcomes between renal transplant patients and immunocompetent patients with acute diverticulitis. For renal transplant patients who present with uncomplicated diverticulitis, nonoperative management was safe, as outcomes were similar to immunocompetent patients. However, for renal transplant patients with complicated diverticulitis, the optimal management remained unclear as both treatment choices and complication rates differed from immunocompetent patients.
