Acute and long-term outcomes of epicardial left atrial appendage ligation with the second-generation LARIAT device: A high-volume electrophysiology center experience
Clinical Research in Cardiology Jun 16, 2018
Fink T, et al. - The long-term results of the second-generation LARIAT device after left atrial appendage (LAA) ligation were investigated via a retrospective study on patients who underwent LAA ligation. Results revealed a high acute success rate (comparable to endocardial LAA closure devices) in association with epicardial LAA ligation with the second-generation LARIAT device. Periprocedural complications were observed in association with LAA ligation, with mild pericarditis as the most common adverse event. A moderate incidence of leakages after LAA exclusion, no intracardiac thrombus formation, and only a single thromboembolic event was observed during follow-up.
