While the presence of a psychological comorbidity decreased the possibility of treatment success, the use of electrical stimulation and higher baseline pain score were correlated with a positive treatment outcome. As per the outcomes, practitioners ought to consider using electrical stimulation more frequently and addressing psychopathology before or concurrent to treatment when initiating acupuncture.
