Acoustic radiation force impulse (ARFI) elastography of the bowel wall as a possible marker of inflammatory activity in patients with Crohn's disease
Clinical Radiology Mar 21, 2018
Goertz RS, et al. - An estimation was conducted of the acoustic radiation force impulse (ARFI) shear-wave velocities of the bowel wall in patients with Crohn's disease (CD). Researchers discovered that ARFI shear-wave velocities exhibited a trend to higher values in inflamed bowel wall thickening on B-mode ultrasound in subjects with CD. Nonetheless, variations were found to be small and could not be clinically significant.
