Acne scarring management: Systematic review and evaluation of the evidence

American Journal of Clinical Dermatology May 15, 2018

Bhargava S, et al. - Authors critically evaluated the evidence relevant to modalities for atrophic acne scarring and various multimodality therapies. In most types of atrophic acne scars, significant improvement with minimal risks was offered with fractional lasers and radiofrequency and these could be combined with all other treatment options. Typically superior outcomes were provided by combination therapies than solo treatments. In patients with dark or sensitive skin types, minimally invasive procedures, such as fractional radiofrequency and needling, provided good outcomes with negligible risks.
