Scheuermann TS, et al. – The study aimed to determine the prevalence and predictors of failed biochemical verification of self–reported abstinence among members selected in trials of hospital–initiated smoking cessation interventions. The results of this study showed that high rates (40%) of recently hospitalized smokers enrolled in smoking cessation trials failed biochemical verification of their self–reported abstinence in the United States.
