Â The accuracy of preoperative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) was examined in predicting the requisite levels of neck dissection in patients with regionally metastatic papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC), with a focus on Levels II and V. MRI offered high specificity and negative predictive value for Level V metastasis. However, more likewise studies were needed to verify these results. Moreover, routine dissection of Level II in patients with regionally metastatic PTC should be considered carefully, as MRI showed low specificity.
