Voskens FJ, et al. - This study is performed to prospectively assess the quality of the field triage system to identify severely injured adult trauma patients. Researchers identified a significant group of severely injured trauma patients that did not receive the appropriate level I trauma care, putting these patients at risk for increased morbidity and mortality. Finding thus suggested the need for improvement of the prehospital triage protocol.
