Accuracy of MRI texture analysis in differentiating low-grade from high-grade gliomas: Systematic review and meta-analysis
BMJ Open Sep 12, 2019
Wang, Q, et al. - Via performing this meta-analysis, researchers evaluated the accuracy of MRI texture analysis (TA) in differentiating low-grade gliomas from high-grade ones. They analyzed six studies including 440 patients and identified the pooled sensitivity, specificity, positive likelihood ratio, negative likelihood ratio and diagnostic OR with 95% CIs of 0.93, 0.86, 6.4, 0.08 and 78, respectively. Findings supported the high accuracy of MRI TA in differentiating low-grade gliomas from high-grade ones. To guide the use of this technique for clinical decision-making, a standardized methodology is warranted.
