Accuracy of digital tomosynthesis of the chest in detection of interstitial lung disease comparison with digital chest radiography
Journal of Computer Assisted Tomography Jan 26, 2019
Kruamak T, et al. - From January 1, 2009, to December 31, 2014, investigators estimated 78 subjects with mean age, 53.05 years to evaluate the efficiency of chest digital tomosynthesis (DTS) to disclose the interstitial lung disease (ILD) in comparison with conventional chest radiography. They observed improved diagnostic accuracy in DTS with a sensitivity of 83.3% and negative predictive value of 89.0% as compared to conventional chest radiography (43.9% and 70.9%, respectively). They noticed a higher level of confidence and a higher interobserver agreement in diagnosing ILD at DTS than conventional chest radiography. They suggested DTS as the initial diagnostic system for ILD investigation.
